Christmas decorating tips: Make a stable

Ice-cream stick stable

You will need:

- 14-16 ice-cream sticks,

- A4 piece of white cardboard

- Paints brown, gold, green and yellow,

- Craft knife,

- Cutting board,

- Old Christmas card with a suitable stable scene,

- Glue,

- Glitter to match paints,

- Thin fridge magnets or sticky stuff,

- Already made ice-cream stick star or cross,

- Scissors, ruler, pencil and eraser.

Method:

Stick down the ice-cream sticks in number order as suggested by the diagram numbers.

When the glue is dry, cut with a craft knife round the outside of the ice-cream sticks. Paint the top of the ice-cream sticks with light coloured paint such as white or gold. Optional: Paint the star or the cross, or paint the two extra ice-cream sticks for the door frame as well as the two trees. Cut the old Christmas card scene and message in the card in such a way that they fit in the correct spaces. Use the ruler to measure the open spaces. Glue all the pieces down as well as the fridge magnets.
