In these christmas crafts for children you can recycle old tins using decoupage.

Here is a list of the things you will need for these christmas crafts for children:
An empty clean tin (any size from coffee tins to tuna tins);
Base coat paint, any colour;
Paper serviette with attractive patterns and pictures;
Modge Podge material varnish;
Paint brushes;
Empty yoghurt container filled with water and five drops of
dishwashing liquid for cleaning the brushes;
Newspaper to protect working surface;
Scissors;
Glitter (optional);
Method:
Apply one or two layers of base coat paint to the clean tin. While leaving the base coats to dry, cut out the patterns and pictures from the serviette.
Next, separate the layers of the serviette cut outs.

Apply modge podge to the area of the tin where you plan to place your preferred pattern or picture. Take the top layer of your serviette picture and evenly place it on top of the wet layer of modge podge on the side of the tin.
Gently and smoothly apply modge podge over the top of the picture on the tin. Take the rest of your pictures and apply them to your tin in the same way.
Leave the tin to dry before applying further coats. Apply the coats of modge podge in a different direction with each layer. This makes your finished product more durable. Up then down in the form of a +, and then diagonally from the left and then right in the form of an x.
You can apply some glitter onto the wet modge podge with the second last layer. Clean your brushes in water thoroughly after painting with the mogde podge.

Variations:
Coffee tins can be used to store cookies, rice and pencils, etc.
Small tin can be used to hold a pot plant. Candle and soap gift holder. The decoupage tin can also be used to store sweets.
