While making Christmas crafts for children try decoupage Cds
Christmas crafts for children can include recycling your old cds.

You will need:
An old CD;
Thin ribbon;
Fabric with suitable print;
Modge Podge varnish;
Paint brushes;
Empty yoghurt container filled with water and five drops of dishwashing liquid;
Newspaper to protect working surface;
Scissors;
Pencil;
Gold or silver doilies;
Glue;
Glitter glue, dried flowers and/or fabric flowers (optional);
Method:
Use the old Cd as a stencil and draw the outline on the reverse side of the printed fabric. Cut out the circle shape, one for each Cd. Cut 2 pieces of thin ribbon each about 15 to 20cm long. This is to make a suitable loop.
Glue the ribbon onto the non shiny or printed side of the Cd with the loop over the edge of the Cd. Apply Modge Podge to the non shiny or printed area of the Cd. Take the round fabric cut out and evenly place it on top of the wet layer of Modge Podge on the Cd.
Gently and smoothly apply Modge Podge over the top of the fabric. Use scissors to neaten the edges of the fabric that might overlap the sides of the Cd.
Leave the Cd to dry before applying further coats. Apply the coats of Modge Podge in a different direction with each layer. This makes your finished product more durable. Up then down in the form of a +, and then diagonally from the left and then right in the form of an x. Glue the doilies in the centre on both sides of the Cd. Apply the glue to the back of the doilies so that the shiny side of the Cd does not get covered by glue and so lose its shine.
Decorate with buttons, flower, glitter, etc. When using dried flowers, gently glue them down using Modge Podge. Clean your brushes in water thoroughly after painting with the Modge Podge.
